Editorial policy
How we write and check our guides and service pages.
Sources
We rely on official sources: the laws on cylaw.org, gov.cy, the Tax Department, the Migration Department, the Department of Lands and Surveys, the Social Insurance Services and other authorities, and we link to them. Where official guidance is thin, we use published guidance from professional firms and say so.
Checks
Every figure on visas, permits, taxes and prices shows its source and the date we checked it. "Figures checked" on a page is the most recent date on which we compared its figures with their official sources, even when nothing had changed. We change that date only after a real check, not automatically.
How figures are kept up to date
Tax rates, fees, thresholds and deadlines used in our guides and calculators are kept in one register, each with its official source and the date it was checked, so a figure is written once and every page that uses it shows the same value.
Our system reads the official page behind each of these figures once a day. When that page changes, the figures that depend on it are marked for review and our team gets an email. A figure that is valid only until a set date, such as a filing deadline, is marked for review 30 days before that date. A person compares the source with our figure and either confirms it or publishes the new value; software never changes a figure on its own. Pages that use a figure are refreshed as soon as it is published, and every page is refreshed at least once a day.
What triggers an update
We review a page when its official source changes, when a new law, decision or official guidance is published, when a dated rule is about to expire and when a reader reports a mistake. If a check shows that a figure was wrong, we correct it and the page shows the new check date.
Report an error
If you find a mistake (a figure, a deadline, an address or a broken link), write to info@cypruspermit.com with the subject "Correction", the address of the page and what you think is wrong, ideally with a link to the official source. You can also use the form on our contact page. We check the report against the official source, correct the page if needed and reply to tell you what we found.
Not advice
Our pages provide general information, not advice for your case. We check your circumstances before work begins. Work that Cyprus law reserves to advocates or auditors is signed by a licensed advocate or ICPAC-registered auditor.
Independence
Our guides are written to help readers understand public rules and practical steps. The services we sell do not change the facts, sources or calculator results we publish.
