Family permits in Cyprus

Your spouse and children can join you after two years of legal residence, if your permit is valid for at least one more year; for staff of companies approved to employ foreign personnel the Migration Department may waive the wait. A spouse must be 21 or older and married for at least a year.

Can my spouse work?

Usually yes. Under family reunification a spouse or civil partner has direct access to employment on the same terms as the sponsor; spouses of long-term residents and intra-corporate transferees may also be self-employed. Spouses of staff of companies of foreign interests can take paid employment without a Labour Department contract, but not self-employment.

Do children need separate files?

Yes, each family member has their own application.
