How many years before you can apply for Cyprus citizenship?

On the standard route you need one year of legal residence in a row before applying, plus 7 of the 10 years before that. Highly skilled employees can apply after 3 years with Greek at B1, or 4 years with A2. Not every permit counts, so we check your residence history first.

What language test does Cyprus citizenship need?

Greek at level B1 on the standard route, or A2 or B1 on the fast route for highly skilled staff. You also pass an exam on Cyprus political and social life, with at least 60%. We plan the test dates around your application so that both certificates are ready when you file.
