Common mistakes
- Not reading what you sign. With TOM 120A the buyer accepts responsibility for overdue road tax.
- Driving the car home. Without a valid MOT, the form says the road licence counts as suspended even if renewed.
- Writing in lower case or correcting mistakes. The notes ask for capital letters and a clean form without corrections or correction fluid.
- Filing TOM 120A alone. It goes with the transfer form TOM 9B, the registration certificate, insurance and the €8.54 fee.

When do I need TOM 120A?
When you buy a vehicle in Cyprus that has no valid MOT certificate. The RTD says the new owner then provides this statutory declaration with the transfer.
