Immigration office Paphos: the Aliens and Immigration Unit

Residents of Paphos district, from Kato Paphos to Peyia and Polis Chrysochous, file residence applications at the Police Aliens and Immigration Unit on Eleftheriou Venizelou Avenue. Visitor permits (pink slips) are filed and renewed here in person, so the income and bank documents decide most outcomes. Contacts and figures below were checked on 23 October 2026.

In short

  • The Paphos unit is on the 2nd floor of 22 Eleftheriou Venizelou Ave (corner of Kaniggos St), open Monday to Friday 07:30–14:30, last entry 13:30.
  • Book by email to pafosetiseis@police.gov.cy at least one month before your permit or visa expires.
  • Visitor permits need foreign income of at least €24,000 a year for one person, plus 20% for a spouse and 15% per child, shown through a Cypriot bank account.
  • Pink Slip renewals are not part of the online renewal service; you renew in person in Paphos.
  • Residents of Peyia and Polis Chrysochous also use the Paphos unit; there is no separate immigration office in those towns.

Where the Paphos immigration office is and when it opens

The Paphos unit of the Police Aliens and Immigration Service receives residence applications for everyone who lives in Paphos district.

  • Address: 22 Eleftheriou Venizelou Avenue, corner of Kaniggos Street, 2nd floor, 8021 Paphos.
  • Hours: Monday to Friday 07:30–14:30, last entry 13:30, closed on public holidays.
  • Email for appointments: pafosetiseis@police.gov.cy.
  • Phone: 26 80 62 22 or 26 80 62 15.

The same avenue has the EAC customer service centre (no. 87) and the Paphos Citizen Service Centre, KEP (no. 62). If you live in Peyia or Polis Chrysochous, you still come to this office for immigration; Polis has its own KEP and EAC centre for other errands.

How to book an appointment in Paphos

Email pafosetiseis@police.gov.cy at least one month before your permit or entry visa expires. Couples and families send one request together. Attach, in capital letters, for each person: name, date of birth, nationality, passport number, date of last arrival, ARC and file number if any, permit expiry date, number of applicants and a local phone number.

The unit replies within five working days with the date and time. Use the same email thread to change or cancel. For a first Pink Slip, ask for the appointment as soon as you have the bank guarantee, medical tests and rental contract in hand, because the application has to be made before your visa runs out.

What you file in Paphos, online or in Nicosia

Paphos unit: visitor permits and their renewals, yellow slips (MEU1) and MEU2 cards for EU families, family members of Cypriots, employment and domestic work permits, and student residence permits.

Online only from 1 January 2027: renewals of remunerated employment, foreign-interest company and long-term resident permits. Visitor permits are not in this list, so Pink Slip holders keep renewing in person.

Nicosia head office only: Immigration Permits (permanent residence, including Category F), long-term resident status, digital nomads, Blue Cards, foreign-interest companies and third-country family reunification. If you move from a Pink Slip to permanent residence later, that file goes to Nicosia by email appointment.

Documents for a Pink Slip in Paphos

The Migration Department's list for a visitor permit (form MVIS8) includes:

  • passport valid for at least three months after you apply, and the page with your last entry and visa;
  • first permit only: a clean criminal record certificate from your country, and blood tests (hepatitis B and C, HIV, syphilis) and a chest X-ray stamped by a specialist doctor in Cyprus;
  • a 10-year bank guarantee from a Cypriot bank for possible repatriation costs; the amount depends on your country;
  • Plan A health insurance covering inpatient and outpatient care and repatriation of remains;
  • a title deed or a stamped rental contract, or a host declaration;
  • a 12-month statement of a Cypriot bank account (or from opening, for a first permit) showing transfers from abroad of at least €2,000 a month or €24,000 a year for one person, plus 20% for a spouse and 15% for each child; for a first permit a transfer or deposit of at least €10,000 is also accepted;
  • at renewal, an account balance of at least €6,000;
  • a declaration of supported family members and a summary statement of income;
  • an apostilled and translated marriage certificate if your spouse applies with you.

For a Yellow Slip the list is shorter: passport or ID, proof of work, studies or income, a rental contract or title deed and a utility bill in your name. In Paphos the water bill comes from EOA Pafou, which supplies Paphos, Geroskipou and Peyia.

Fees and processing times

  • Visitor permit: €70 for issue or renewal, plus €70 for first registration in the Aliens' Register; usually decided within four months of a complete file. The first permit is valid for one year, or until three months before your passport expires.
  • Yellow Slip (MEU1): €20; decided within one month; no expiry date. You must apply within four months of arrival, and failing to do so can bring a fine of up to €2,500.
  • MEU2 card for a non-EU family member: €20; within six months.

There is no official figure for the waiting time for an appointment in Paphos beyond the five-working-day reply. Check your file by sending STATUS and the application number to 1199.

Practical tips for the Paphos office

Practical advice, not official rules.

  • The office is on the 2nd floor. Arrive before the 13:30 last entry, even with an appointment.
  • Bring originals and copies. For a first permit the list asks for the original title deed or rental contract and marriage certificate together with a copy.
  • Open the Cypriot bank account early. The income rule is checked on transfers into that account, and transfers out to third parties are not counted.
  • If you cannot attend, the department has a standard form to authorise a representative and a declaration of mailing address. Both are on the visitor forms page.

CyprusPermit is not a law firm or a government body. We prepare the file and keep track of the dates; where a representative is needed, a licensed advocate submits it. See Pink Slip help and permit renewal help.
