Who fills it in
Non-EU citizens applying for a first visitor permit or renewing one, including digital nomads and their families. Each person, including a spouse or child, normally needs their own application in the right purpose category.
What goes with it
- Copy of a valid passport (at least three months' validity) and the page with your last entry stamp and visa
- Clean criminal record certificate, apostilled and translated (first permit only)
- Medical certificate for hepatitis B and C, HIV, syphilis and a chest X-ray, stamped by a Cyprus specialist (first permit only)
- Ten-year letter of guarantee from a Cyprus bank for repatriation costs
- Plan A health insurance (inpatient, outpatient and repatriation of remains)
- Title deed or stamped rental contract, or a host declaration
- Proof of stable income from abroad and a Cyprus bank statement of foreign remittances (at least €24,000 a year for one person, +20% for a spouse, +15% per child)
- Marriage certificate where relevant, apostilled and translated

Common mistakes
- Ticking the wrong box under 'Type of application'. A first permit with no ARC is 'issuance and registration'.
- Choosing 'Visitor' for a spouse or child. Dependants have their own purpose boxes.
- A correspondence address where you will not receive post. The collection notice for your card goes there.
- Remittances that fall short of the published threshold, or transfers between your own accounts counted as income.
- Bringing a criminal record or marriage certificate without an apostille or translation.
- Letting your permit or visa run out before you book. District units ask for appointment requests at least one month before expiry.
Questions
Where can I download the MVIS8 form?
From the Migration Department's visitors forms page on gov.cy. The current file is a Word (.doc) document dated 9 March 2026, listed with the supporting documents for each visitor category.
Is MVIS8 also the digital nomad form?
Yes. Digital nomads, their spouses or partners and their children tick their own purpose box on MVIS8. The digital nomad page sets the income and document rules, and these applications are filed in Nicosia.
Can I fill in MVIS8 in English?
Yes, every label is in Greek and English and the form does not ask for Greek. Supporting documents must be in Greek or English, or come with an official translation.
Is the form free?
Downloading it is free. The department publishes a fee of €70 for issuing or renewing the permit, plus €70 for first registration in the Aliens' Register.
Can I renew a Pink Slip online?
Not at the time of checking. Online renewal covers employment, foreign-interest company and long-term resident permits; visitor and digital nomad permits are still renewed in person.
